“To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
[Colossians 1:27 NIV]
Devotional
Paul wrote these words to the believers in Colossae, reminding them of the incredible gift of God’s presence through Christ. For centuries, God’s people had longed for the mystery of His plan to be revealed. Now, through Jesus, that mystery was unveiled: the living Christ takes up residence within the hearts of all who believe.
This promise is not just about a future in heaven, but about a present reality. Christ in you means His strength in your weakness, His peace in your storms, and His love flowing through you to others. The “hope of glory” is not wishful thinking but a confident expectation that God will finish what He started.
For the Gentile believers, this truth was life-changing. They were once outsiders to God’s covenant, but now they were included in His family. The same is true for us today. No matter your background, Christ in you is the assurance that you are fully known, fully loved, and forever secure in Him.
Reflection
Because Christ lives in me, I carry His hope wherever I go. I am never empty, never abandoned, and never without purpose. Today, I can walk with confidence, knowing His glory is my future and His presence is my strength.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for living in me and for being my sure hope of glory. Help me to remember that I am never alone and that Your presence is my greatest treasure. Strengthen me to reflect Your love to others today.
