Hold On to Your Confidence

“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”

[Hebrews 10:35-36 NIV]

Devotional

Life often tests our faith with seasons of waiting, uncertainty, or hardship. The believers in the book of Hebrews were under pressure, facing opposition and discouragement. Some were tempted to give up or turn back. In this context, the writer urges them not to throw away their confidence in God’s promises. That confidence is not based on feelings or circumstances but on the unchanging character of God.

Confidence in Christ is meant to carry us through. It is not the absence of difficulty, but the assurance that God’s word is true and His promises are sure. Just as an athlete presses through fatigue to reach the finish line, believers are called to persevere in doing God’s will, trusting that there is a reward on the other side of faithfulness.

Perseverance is rarely easy. It requires patience, trust, and sometimes tears. But God promises that those who endure will receive what He has spoken. Our faith is not wasted, and our waiting is not in vain. Every step of obedience, even when it feels small, brings us closer to the fulfillment of His promise.

Reflection

What area of your life feels weary right now? Hold fast to your confidence in God. He sees your perseverance and will honor it in His perfect timing.

Prayer

Father, thank You that Your promises are sure and unshakable. Strengthen my confidence in You when I feel tired or discouraged. Help me persevere in faith, trusting that You are faithful to reward those who continue in Your will. Amen.
