Where Two or Three Gather

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

[Matthew 18:20 NIV]

Devotional

Jesus gives us a beautiful assurance that His presence is not confined to temples, cathedrals, or large crowds. Wherever believers come together with hearts centered on Him, He is there. This means that His presence fills our living rooms, prayer circles, workplaces, and quiet corners where we whisper His name.

The promise is simple yet powerful. God values unity and fellowship among His people. When we come together in His name, seeking His will, sharing His Word, or lifting one another up in prayer, He joins us. His Spirit brings peace, guidance, and strength that we could never find on our own.

Even when our gatherings feel small or ordinary, heaven sees them differently. Jesus Himself is in the midst, listening, blessing, and working through our togetherness. Every time we unite in His name, we create a sacred space where His love flows freely.

Reflection

I do not need a crowd to encounter Jesus. When I gather with even one or two others in His name, He is faithfully present with us.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your promise to be present whenever we gather in Your name. Help me value every moment of fellowship and sense Your nearness among us.
