The Lord Is Good to Those Who Wait

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.”

[Lamentations 3:25 NIV]

Devotional

Lamentations was written in one of Israel’s darkest seasons, a time of loss and sorrow. Yet right in the middle of the grief, the writer pauses to declare that God is still good. His goodness does not fade when life becomes difficult. It remains constant, even when everything else feels uncertain.

Waiting on God can be one of the hardest parts of faith. We want quick answers and visible results, but God often uses waiting to deepen our trust. When we place our hope in Him and seek Him sincerely, we discover that His presence is our greatest reward. He meets us in the waiting with new strength, quiet peace, and unshakable hope.

The promise of this verse is not that everything will instantly improve, but that God will show His goodness to those who continue to seek Him. Hope that rests in the Lord is never wasted. He is faithful to reveal His goodness in His perfect time.

Reflection

When life feels slow or uncertain, remember that God’s goodness is not gone. Keep seeking Him with hope and trust that He is working even in the waiting.

Prayer

Father, thank You that You are good to those who hope in You. Help me to seek You with patience and to trust that Your timing is perfect.
