Trusting the Name of the Lord

“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

[Psalm 9:10 NIV]

Devotional

This verse reminds us that knowing God personally leads to unshakable trust. The “name” of the Lord represents His character, His faithfulness, love, mercy, and power. When we truly know who He is, our hearts learn to rest in His goodness. David wrote these words after seeing God’s justice and protection, confident that the Lord would never abandon those who seek Him sincerely.

Life often gives us reasons to worry or doubt, but the knowledge of God’s character anchors us in peace. He has never failed His people, and He will not start with you. Every time we call on His name, we are met with compassion and strength. Trust grows as we remember His past faithfulness and believe that He will continue to be faithful.

God’s promise in this verse is both simple and powerful. He will never forsake those who seek Him. No matter what season you are in, when you turn your heart toward Him, He will meet you there with love and steadfast care.

Reflection

You can trust God completely because He never abandons those who seek Him. Keep calling on His name and rest in the promise of His faithful presence.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that You never forsake those who seek You. Help me to know Your name more deeply and to trust You in every circumstance.
