“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
[Jeremiah 29:11 NIV]
Devotional
This beloved verse was written to God’s people while they were living in exile, far from home and struggling to see any purpose in their pain. Through the prophet Jeremiah, God reminded them that He had not forgotten them. His plans were still in motion, filled with hope and restoration. Even when the future felt uncertain, God’s promise was clear. He was working for their good.
God’s plans are not always what we expect, but they are always rooted in His love. Sometimes the path to blessing leads through seasons of waiting, refining, or hardship. Yet His purpose remains steady: to prosper us spiritually, to shape us into His likeness, and to fill our lives with hope that does not fade.
This promise is as true for us today as it was for Israel. Our circumstances may change, but God’s heart does not. He is still the author of hope and the giver of a secure future for all who trust Him.
Reflection
Even when life feels uncertain, God’s plans for you are good. Trust His timing, believe His promises, and hold on to the hope He gives.
Prayer
Father, thank You for having a plan for my life that is filled with hope and purpose. Help me to trust Your direction and to rest in Your goodness today.
