“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
[Isaiah 40:31 NIV]
Devotional
Isaiah spoke these words to a weary people who felt forgotten by God. In their exhaustion, the Lord reminded them that His power never fades and His understanding has no limit. Those who place their hope in Him are renewed from the inside out. Their strength is not self-made but God-given, flowing from His presence into their weakness.
To hope in the Lord means to trust Him fully, to wait on His timing, and to believe that He is working even when we cannot see it. As we wait, He gives new energy and vision. Like eagles that rise above the storms, we can face life’s challenges with courage and grace because the wind of His Spirit lifts us.
This promise is for everyone who feels tired, discouraged, or at the end of their strength. God is not asking you to push harder; He is inviting you to rest in His power. When you do, He will renew you in ways you could never renew yourself.
Reflection
When you feel weary, place your hope in the Lord. His strength will lift you, His peace will steady you, and His presence will carry you forward.
Prayer
Father, thank You that You renew my strength when I hope in You. Help me to wait patiently and to rise above my challenges with Your power.
