Faithful to the Finish

God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

[1 Corinthians 1:9 NIV]

Devotional

Paul wrote these words to believers who were struggling with division, confusion, and immaturity. Before he addressed any of their issues, he reminded them of something unshakable: God is faithful. Their confidence was not in their own consistency but in His. No matter what they faced, they belonged to a God who never changes His mind, never breaks His word, and never abandons His people.

This promise tells us that God Himself has called us into fellowship with Jesus. Fellowship is more than a distant belief. It is a living relationship. God wanted you close to Him, so He drew you near through Christ. Your connection to Jesus is not fragile. It is upheld by the faithfulness of God who started the relationship and promises to sustain it.

When life feels overwhelming or when you feel unworthy of God’s presence, remember this truth. Your standing with Him is not built on your perfection. It is built on His promise. He called you, He keeps you, and He delights in walking with you. His faithfulness remains even on the days when yours wavers.

Let this verse quiet your fears. The God who saved you is the God who will carry you. He will not let go of the fellowship He began with you.

Reflection

God has called me into a close relationship with Jesus, and He will remain faithful to me in every season. I can rest knowing He will finish what He started in my life.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your unwavering faithfulness. Help me trust that You are holding my life securely in Your hands. Strengthen my fellowship with Jesus and guide me each day.
