“I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.”
[Job 19:25 NIV]
Devotional
Job spoke these powerful words in the middle of deep suffering. He had lost nearly everything, and his questions were many. Yet even in his pain, a bright truth rose in his heart. He was certain that his Redeemer was alive. Job did not yet understand how God would restore him or what the future held, but he knew who held his future. His confidence was rooted not in circumstances but in the living God who would have the final word.
This promise reminds us that faith is not pretending everything is easy. It is choosing to trust that God is still at work even when life feels heavy. A redeemer is one who rescues, restores, and defends. Job believed that God would act on his behalf, and that someday all the confusion and sorrow would give way to God’s justice, presence, and victory.
For us, this truth becomes even clearer in Jesus, our living Redeemer. He stepped into our world, conquered sin and death, and continues to stand for us. When life feels uncertain or when suffering raises hard questions, this promise anchors our hearts. Our Redeemer is alive. He is not distant. He is present, powerful, and faithful to finish what He has begun.
Let this assurance lift your spirit today. God will not abandon His work in your life. The Redeemer who lives will stand for you and carry you through every season.
