“Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”
[Psalm 103:3 NIV]
Devotional
Psalm 103 is David’s song of gratitude, inviting his own soul to remember the goodness of God. Before listing any blessings, he begins with the deepest ones. God forgives and God heals. David had known failure, weakness, and physical hardship, yet he had also experienced God’s compassion lifting him from despair. This verse reminds us that God’s care reaches into every part of our lives.
The promise of forgiveness is central. God does not hold your sins over your head or make you work for His acceptance. His forgiveness is complete and rooted in His steadfast love. He restores our relationship with Him, removes our guilt, and brings peace where shame once lived. Before any outward change, God heals the heart.
David also declares that God heals all diseases. This speaks to God’s power over every form of brokenness. Sometimes He brings physical healing in miraculous ways. Other times He heals through strength, perseverance, comfort, or eternal hope. Whether the healing is immediate or unfolds over time, God is the source of it, and His compassion never fails.
Take this promise with you today. God is not distant from your pain or your failures. He is the One who restores, renews, and brings healing to the places you feel weakest.
