“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
[John 11:25–26 NIV]
Devotional
Jesus spoke these words to Martha outside the tomb of her brother Lazarus. Grief was heavy in the air, and hope seemed far away. Yet Jesus didn’t simply offer comfort. He offered Himself. He declared that He is the resurrection and the life, the One who brings hope where hope has died and life where death has claimed victory. His words shifted Martha’s focus from her loss to His power.
This promise reaches into every place where we feel broken, defeated, or afraid. Jesus is not only the giver of life. He is life. Believing in Him means death does not have the last word, and loss does not end the story. He brings a life that begins now and continues forever, a life woven with His presence, His strength, and His unfailing love.
Even when we face situations that feel final, Jesus invites us to trust Him. He asks Martha, “Do you believe this?” The question is tender and personal. It invites us to rest our faith in the One who stands stronger than death and speaks life into every valley. His resurrection power is not distant. It is for you. And His promise is certain: whoever believes in Him will live forever.
Let this truth anchor your heart today. Jesus holds your present and your future. In Him, life wins, hope rises, and fear loses its grip.
