“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
[Jeremiah 33:3 NIV]
Devotional
God spoke this promise to Jeremiah while the prophet was imprisoned, and the nation was facing devastation. Everything looked hopeless. Yet in that dark and confined place, God gave one of the most powerful invitations in Scripture. Call to me. God was not distant. He was ready to speak, ready to reveal hope, and ready to unveil things far beyond human understanding. Jeremiah’s circumstances were bleak, but God’s promise was bright.
This verse reminds us that no situation is too difficult for God to speak into. When we call to Him, He hears us. He answers in His perfect wisdom and reveals things we could not discover on our own. His understanding goes beyond our questions, our fears, and our limited perspective. God invites us to bring everything to Him so He can guide us with truth, clarity, and hope.
The “great and unsearchable things” God reveals are not always dramatic. Sometimes they are quiet assurances, gentle guidance, or deep peace that shifts our outlook. Other times they are insights, breakthroughs, or answers we never saw coming. The key is that God delights in responding when His children call out to Him. His desire is to draw you closer, open your eyes to His work, and strengthen your trust in His plan.
Let this promise encourage you today. God is inviting you to call on Him with confidence. He will answer, and He will reveal what you need in ways only He can.
