You Are Never Alone

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

[Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV]

Devotional

Moses spoke these words to Joshua as he prepared to lead Israel into the Promised Land. The task before him was enormous. The people were many, the challenges were real, and the future was unknown. Yet Moses reminded him that he would not step into that future alone. The Lord Himself would go before him, walk with him, and stay beside him through every moment.

This promise reaches into our lives today. God does not send us into difficult seasons and watch from a distance. He goes before us to prepare the way. He walks with us to strengthen our hearts. He stays close to guard, guide, and comfort us. The God who knows every detail of our journey promises that He will never leave or forsake us.

Fear often rises when we imagine facing life in our own strength. Discouragement grows when we look at problems without remembering God’s presence. Deuteronomy 31:8 reminds us that courage does not come from self-confidence. It comes from knowing that the Lord goes before us and remains with us. We can face the unknown because He is already there.

Let this truth settle into your heart today. Wherever you go, God goes with you. Whatever you face, He is present, faithful, and strong.

Reflection

God goes before me and stays with me. I do not need to fear or be discouraged because He will never leave me.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for going before me and staying with me. Calm my fears and strengthen my heart today. Help me walk with confidence, knowing I am never alone.
