“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”
[Psalm 125:1 NIV]
Devotional
This verse paints a powerful picture of stability. Mount Zion stood firm in Jerusalem, unmoved by storms, seasons, or enemies. God compares those who trust in Him to that mountain, steady, secure, and held in place by His strength. Trusting the Lord does not mean life is calm, but it does mean our foundation is strong.
We often feel shaken by uncertainty, fear, or sudden change. Circumstances shift, people fail us, and our own emotions rise and fall. Yet this promise reminds us that trust anchors us. When our confidence rests in God rather than outcomes, we gain a steadiness the world cannot offer.
Enduring forever does not mean we never struggle. It means God sustains us through every season. Even when we feel weak, His faithfulness keeps us standing. Trust connects us to His unchanging nature, and that connection gives us strength to endure.
Reflection
What has been shaking your sense of security lately? Today, choose to place your trust in the Lord and rest in the promise that He will hold you steady.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for being my firm foundation. Help me to trust You fully and remain steady no matter what comes my way. Amen.
