A Promise for Those Who Listen

“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”

[Revelation 2:7 NIV]

Devotional

This promise comes from Jesus’ message to the church, but it also speaks personally to every believer. God is still speaking, still guiding, and still inviting His people to listen closely. Having ears to hear means having a heart that is open, attentive, and willing to respond to what God is saying.

Victory in this verse is not about human strength or achievement. It is about faithfulness. It is about continuing to trust, follow, and remain devoted to Christ even when life is challenging. God honors perseverance that comes from love and obedience, not perfection.

The promise of the tree of life points us back to God’s original design and forward to our eternal future with Him. It reminds us that what God offers is life, restoration, and unbroken fellowship. Every act of faithfulness now is connected to a future hope that cannot be taken away.
