Breath for What Feels Lifeless

I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.

[Ezekiel 37:14 NIV]

Devotional

This promise was first spoken to a people who felt completely hopeless. Israel was in exile, discouraged, and spiritually dry. God met them in that place and spoke life where there seemed to be none. Ezekiel 37 reminds us that no situation is too far gone for God’s restoring power.

God does not only repair what is broken. He breathes new life into it. When He says, “I will put my Spirit in you,” He is promising His presence, His power, and His renewal. Life begins again not by human effort, but by the Spirit of God at work within us.

The promise also includes stability. God speaks of settling His people, giving them a place to stand after a season of loss and wandering. He is not only concerned with revival in your heart, but also with restoration in your life.

If you feel weary, empty, or stuck, this verse speaks directly to you. God is still the One who brings life from dry places. What He has spoken, He will do.

Reflection

Is there an area of your life that feels lifeless or hopeless? Invite God’s Spirit into that place today and trust Him to bring renewal and stability again.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your Spirit that brings life and hope. Breathe new life into every dry place in my heart. Help me trust that You will do what You have promised.
