“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
(Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV)
Devotional
These words were spoken by Moses to the people of Israel as they prepared to enter the Promised Land. Moses knew they would face strong enemies and unfamiliar challenges. Instead of focusing on the obstacles ahead, he reminded them of the most important truth: God Himself was going with them.
The command to be strong and courageous was not based on their own ability or confidence. Their courage came from the promise of God’s presence. They did not have to face the future alone. The Lord who had guided them through the wilderness would continue to walk with them into every new battle and opportunity.
The same promise encourages believers today. Life often presents situations that feel intimidating or uncertain. We may face decisions, hardships, or responsibilities that seem bigger than our strength. Yet God’s promise remains the same. He goes with His people, and He never abandons them.
Because of this, we can move forward with faith instead of fear. Courage grows when we remember that God is beside us in every step we take. His presence is our confidence, and His faithfulness guarantees that we are never alone.
Reflection
Today I choose courage because God is with me. I do not have to be controlled by fear or uncertainty. The Lord walks beside me in every challenge I face. I will trust His presence and move forward with confidence.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for promising that You will never leave me. Help me face today with strength and courage. Remind me that Your presence goes with me wherever I go.
