God’s Work Endures Forever

I know that everything God does will last forever; there is no adding to it or taking from it. God works so that people will be in awe of him.

(Ecclesiastes 3:14 CSB)

Devotional

In Ecclesiastes, Solomon reflects deeply on life and the passing nature of many things we experience. Seasons change, circumstances shift, and human achievements often fade with time. Yet in the middle of these reflections, he highlights a powerful truth about God. What God does endures forever.

Human efforts can sometimes feel temporary or uncertain, but God’s work is never incomplete or unstable. His plans are perfect and lasting. No one can add to them, and no one can take away from them. This reminds us that God’s purposes stand far above the limitations of human effort.

The verse also explains why God works this way. His enduring work leads people to stand in awe of Him. When we recognize the permanence and wisdom of His plans, our hearts grow in reverence and trust. We begin to see that the safest place for our lives is within God’s purpose.

Today, you can rest in the truth that God’s work in your life is meaningful and lasting. Even when life feels uncertain or temporary, God is building something eternal. What He begins, He sustains, and His plans will stand forever.

Reflection

Today I remember that God’s work is lasting and perfect. I do not need to control every outcome because His purposes are secure. I place my trust in the One whose plans endure forever. My life is safest in His hands.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that Your work lasts forever. Help me trust Your plans even when I do not fully understand them. Fill my heart with awe and confidence in Your perfect purposes.
