“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.”
[Deuteronomy 33:27 NIV]
Devotional
Moses spoke these words as a final blessing over Israel before his life came to an end. The people were preparing to enter the Promised Land, a place filled with hope but also uncertainty. They would face battles, obstacles, and challenges they could not predict. In that moment, God reminded them of something far greater than their fears. Their refuge was not a place. Their refuge was the eternal God Himself.
This promise is rich with comfort. God’s arms are everlasting. They do not weaken, tremble, or grow tired. They hold us when life feels overwhelming and support us when our own strength runs low. Every season, every storm, and every unknown is met with the steady, unshakable care of the God who has no beginning and no end. His protection is not temporary. His presence is not fragile. His love is not uncertain.
There are days when life feels like too much to carry. But beneath you, beneath your fears, your exhaustion, your questions, are the everlasting arms of God. Your refuge is secure not because of your ability, but because of His eternal faithfulness. He upholds you, shields you, and surrounds you with strength you cannot produce on your own.
Let this promise settle over your heart today. You are held. You are safe. You are carried by the everlasting God who never lets go.
Reflection
God is my refuge, and His everlasting arms support me in every season. I can rest in His strength, knowing He holds my life securely.
Prayer
Father, thank You for being my eternal refuge. Help me lean into Your everlasting arms when I feel weak or uncertain. Fill me with peace as I trust in Your faithful care.
