A PERSONAL INVITATION
“For God loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 CSB)
Maybe you found this site during a hard season. Maybe someone shared it with you, or you have been reading these devotions for a while and something keeps drawing you closer. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know that God has been pursuing you long before you thought to look for Him. This page is for you.

The Good News in Plain Words
Here is the heart of the Christian faith, stated simply and honestly.
God created us to know Him and to walk with Him. But every one of us has chosen our own way over His. The Bible calls this sin, and it separates us from God (Romans 3:23). The consequence of that separation is serious: spiritual death and an eternity apart from God (Romans 6:23).
But God did not leave us there.
He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross in our place, and rose from the dead on the third day. His resurrection defeated sin and death. Because of what Jesus did, the way back to God is open, not through our effort or goodness, but through trusting in Him (Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:8–9).
This is the Gospel. It is the best news the world has ever received.
Repentance, Faith, and a New Beginning
Being saved means turning away from living for yourself and turning toward God. The Bible calls this repentance. It is not just feeling sorry, it is a genuine change of direction. Paired with that is faith: placing your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord (Acts 3:19; Romans 10:9–10).
This is not about being good enough. It is about receiving a gift you could never earn.
A Prayer to Begin Your Journey
If you are ready to give your life to Jesus, you can pray right now. God hears every sincere prayer. You do not need special words. The words below are a guide, but what matters most is the honesty of your heart.
Father God, I come to You just as I am. I know that I have sinned and fallen short of who You made me to be. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died on the cross for my sins, and that You raised Him from the dead. I turn from my old way of living and place my trust fully in Jesus. Please forgive me, come into my life, and make me new. I give You my life. Thank You for receiving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you prayed that sincerely, welcome to the family of God. This is the beginning of the most important journey of your life.
Your Next Steps
Beginning a relationship with God is just that, a beginning. Here are the most important things to do as you start this new life.
Read God’s Word Daily
The Bible is how God speaks to you. A great place to start is the Gospel of John. You can read it for free right now using the YouVersion Bible website (Christian Standard Bible), or download the free YouVersion Bible App on your phone (search “YouVersion” or “Bible” in the App Store or Google Play). The app also offers Bible reading plans for new believers that will help you grow day by day.
Talk to God in Prayer
Prayer is simply a conversation with your Father. You do not need a script or formal language. Talk to Him honestly every day. Talk to Him in the morning, before you sleep, or in the quiet moments in between. He listens, and He responds through His Word and through the gentle work of His Spirit in your life.
Find a Local Church
You were designed for community. A church that teaches the Bible faithfully and loves people genuinely will be one of the greatest gifts in your new walk with God. Look for a church where Scripture is treated as truth, where people care about discipleship, and where you feel welcomed and encouraged to grow.
You can search for a Bible-teaching church near you using Google Maps (search “Bible-teaching church near me”) or ask a Christian friend or family member for a recommendation. If you are in the Victoria, BC area, I personally attend and recommend Coastline Church, a warm, Bible-centred community with multiple services and locations.
Start Each Day in God’s Promises
Each devotion on this site is written to anchor you in what God has said. Bookmark the home page and return each morning. Reading a short Bible promise with reflection and prayer is a simple, steady habit that will shape your heart and mind over time.
Not Ready Yet? That Is Okay.
If you are not ready to make a decision today, that is all right. Keep reading. Keep asking questions. God is patient, and He is not going anywhere. The devotions on this site are written for exactly where you are, whether you are certain, curious, or somewhere in between. You are welcome here.
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 CSB)
