Strengthened to Walk Securely

I will strengthen them in the Lord and in his name they will live securely, declares the Lord.”

[Zechariah 10:12 NIV]

Devotional

Zechariah spoke these words to a people who were rebuilding their lives after a long season of loss and exile. They were weary, discouraged, and unsure of their future. Yet into their uncertainty, God gave a powerful promise. He would strengthen His people, not with temporary energy but with a deep, steady strength rooted in Him. And as they leaned on His name, they would live in security, no longer defined by fear or instability.

This promise reflects God’s heart for His children today. He knows the places where you feel weak, stretched, or unsteady. He understands the pressures you carry and the questions that fill your mind. But God does not call you to walk in your own strength. He promises to infuse your life with His strength—strength that endures, sustains, and lifts you when you feel overwhelmed.

Living securely in His name means anchoring your identity, your hope, and your confidence in who God is rather than in what you can do. His name represents His character: faithful, unchanging, powerful, and full of love. When your trust is placed in Him, you can walk forward without fear of collapsing. His strength becomes your foundation, and His presence becomes your protection.

Let this verse steady your heart today. God is strengthening you right where you are, and in His name, you can live securely and confidently.
